British crime writer Dick Francis dies at 89

BESTSELLING and award-winning British mystery writer Dick Francis died at the age of 89 at his home in the Cayman Islands, according to his family.


Francis was a former jockey before he started his writing career as a correspondent for Britain's Sunday Express paper after he took up a writing course.
He has sold more than 60 million books and published 42 novels in his entire writing career. He began writing novels in 1962 and became known for his mysteries.
